I had the same problem bought a new cdi box, battery, wiring harness, voltage regulator, not the problem checked the voltage on the battery checked out good. Started the quad voltage was spiking maybe it might be the stator no. So I added a ground from the battery to the frame and another one to the wiring harness the green wire. No more power spike voltage is normal. I also put the old voltage regulator back in the new one is not compatible

I have a Coolster 125 CC for my son and the battery drains from full charge to dead in about 3 hours. When put a volt meter on it, you can see the voltage drop from 12 volts and slowly tick down. Last week I disconnected each connector I could and when I got to the connector that goes to the magneto, it stopped. I reconnected everything except this one and the battery stayed charged. I opened where the magento is and there was water in there too so I replaced it. Re installed a new one and the machine fired right off.
Waited a couple hours and went to restart and the battery was dead again. Checked with a volt meter and it's the same thing as before.
Anyone got an idea or know of a common problem/part failure for this? We also took the key out and wiggled the ignition thinking it might be there but no change. Also, should there be a gasket or any insulation on the back of the magneto? It's metal on metal. Lastly, when taking off the cover to get at the magneto, my wrench sparked so there is definitely something going from the battery to ground.
Thanks for any help.

I have a brand new TForce Pro 125cc and I am experiencing the same issues. My battery keeps getting drained after a couple of days. The dealer where I bought this from is puzzled and has offered to swap the ATV but what if the new one will have the same problem. please help anyone who has encountered and successfully fixed this problem

I recently had to troubleshoot this main issue described here. with my TaoTao ATV stalling and finding the battery discharged, atvsunlspokane did a great job explaining possible causes and explaining what to check for, Below are some some things I learned in my journey fixing this, and some additional explanation and sources for troubleshooting. First, confirm you have same issue... IF - ALL of the following are the case: - ATV runs fine with fully charged battery, but stalls after running for some time (can be after few minutes or even couple hours - depends on battery capacity, charge, etc.) - AND Electric start does nothing, or makes clicking noise (i.e., dead battery), - AND Pull/kick start simply moves engine parts. - AND This is at least the second time you found yourself in this situation. Then - If this is your situation, the most likely cause for the battery not charging I believe is one of following ... - Bad Stator (the ATV's AC power generator. attached to motor and covered) - Bad Rectifier/Regulator (converts the stator's AC power output to DC, as needed for the battery and the CDI. ) - Wiring (broke or loose) between.- stator > rectifier > battery - Grounding for the above (including the negative between CDI & stator) Note: A drained battery can actually read 12v. Don't let this fool you into thinking it has a a "genuine" charge. If you hit the electric start you will see the voltage read drop instantly on a drained battery. For this specific case, I don't think it can be a problem with the CDI or ignition coil, as an issue with either of these severe enough to impact battery charging should also noticeably impact ignition (combustion), before a dead battery ultimately ends up preventing ignition spark. My 2 cents... -------- Troubleshooting Videos... A business named Rocky Mountain AV has some of the better YouTube videos I could find for troubleshooting this issue. - Basic troubleshooting for narrowing down the problem source: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr8DeCyBuXI - Testing the source rectifier, stator, and more wiring... www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlDInynmYhE - A good video by someone else showing where is connects on small frame 50 - 110cc ATVs. youtu.be/XdLLjDZ155M

If your battery keeps dying and it will start with a boost or while on a charger, it is most likely the stator. I had this issue and I went threw many batteries, ignition coils, CDI, so on. I finally replaced the stator and have a little bit bigger of a battery on my daughters quad and it fires up d**n near every time.
Hope this helps

I have a new Apollo 110 battery went dead. I replaced it and the new one died. I tested the electrical and the only issue I fined is continuity and voltage across the cylinoid terminals when off. But I replaced the cylinoid and have the same issue. Ideas?..
