I found a few funny things in working on my Chinese ATV. They are pretty much the same as all others. I have had 2 instances where when I pushed my starter button nothing happened, and the bike wont even turn over. (1) Sometimes the kill switch on the handle bar inside the light switch/ starter button/ kill switch assembly will get dirty or grimmy. Take assembly off and spray the insde with electricial parts spray ( non conductive type) working all the controls. That will clean the starter button and the kill switch mechs.(2) The whole assembly must be tightened down to the handle bar to get a good ground. Sometimes a little copper wire strands will give it a better ground. There is only the gold colored plate inside the switch assembly that makes this ground.(3) Sometimes the Clutch lever has a 2 wire tag line coming off it. This is some kind of safty thing but if the little pop switch behind the clutch lever is broke, your ATV won't start. To trouble shoot this follow the wire to the wire harness connector. Unplug the 2 wire connector and put some copper wire down into it, this bridges the two little prongs.(4) Always charge your battery 4 times a year and fill with distilled water to marks.(5) Unlossen and then tighten the main grounds at the starter mounts. Follow the black lead off the battery to where it dead ends onto the bike.(6) If your bike turns over and you have spark, but it dosn't start, this could be your starter sprague bearing located inside your motor cover where your stator is. Takes about 1 hour to change at a repair shop, parts are online.(7) If your bike turns over but no spark could be your coil/ voltage regulator(rectifier)/CDI or stator. If any of these cheap parts go out replace them all. Basicly to check the stator just look at it, if it has a burned up post its no good, if not it is probably good! I am at ATVSUNLSpokane @ facebook.
