I recently after a few years , had some wheel bearings fail on the front end of both my ATV,s. I was worried that perhaps the bearings, due to injury were substandard. I found that the front wheel bearings that came in my ATV were made to bearing industry standards. I just got to much water in them. You need to atleast change the bearing seals every year, I didn't. All bearings are made using a industry standard of manufacturing,so it dosn't matter the price you pay for them its the Spec's that matterMy front wheel bearing is a 6003-2RS depending who you buy them from depends how much you will be charged and THERE ALL THE SAME! So if I go down to my local Industrial Bearing supply co. I will pay $5.48 ea., If I go to the dealership I might pay up to $24.00 or more ea..Bearings for ATV's are not what is considered high speed and considered steel jacketed ect. This is how all standard bearings are made, unless you want what you don't need. My 6003-2RS that I get from my local bearing supply co are the same as SKF's fancy named 6003-2RSJ. The 6003-RS is a steel everything bearing used for highspeed use,and full steel insides, with industry norm lubricant. The "J" on the SHF brand just means Steel everything and industry norm lube. Its just a special letter they put on the end to confuse the consumer into believing they need somthing special. So please go to your local bearing supply co and get your bearings from them for less. Always inspect your wheel bearings after every ride. The bearing experts told me if you run your ATV in mud or water,no matter what nuts gets past the seals and gets in there. Replacing your bearings and seals once a year is great for dry riding with a little water and mud. If you ride near alot of wet stuff, change bearings once a year and seals 3 times a year. This will keep you from haveing a bearing or 2 go bad in the middle of nowhere and having you spin around and crash.
