Usually on cable drum brakes there are 3 adjustment areas. (1) is on the drom where the cable attaches to the drum. This would be your last resort for adjusting. But make sure both are set at the same degree or setting there. (2) The best adjustment is on the brake cable itself. There is an adjusting bolt somewhere in the middle of each cable.(3) Is where the cable goes into the handle bar lever assembly, this is your second adjustment area only if you need to adjust it more. Now take it for a ride, carefull ,get it up to speed and pull hard on the handbrake lever. If the the lever only goes halfway in your on the right track, thats where you want to end up. Now did it pull more to the right or the left? Now make fine adjustments on either side until it stops pulling one way or the other! It is all eyeballing it and thats about it. Good Luck! I have a tao tao 125cc atv, model 125d. It is a 2016 model. The right front drum brake cable was installed incorrectly which causes my tire from turning. I like to know if you can tell me how to remove the cable so I can set it where it will be out of the way.
