Jason,
Sorry to say I have no idea where the settings are supposed to be. A general rule of thumb for small engines is usually 1/4 turn from closed on the mix screw and the screw with the spring around it is used to set the idle.

thanx,i messed with it yesterday after reading forums on this and othwer sites.i now know how to adj air/fuel screw after the research.i got it running great now, couldnt be happier.im glad i didnt go out and buy a diff carb.i couldnt get it to idle bcause it was gettin waaaay to much fuel.it would start w/choke on,but i couldnt shut it off.so i would turn the choke off in little increments and adj the screw till it was at the highest idle each time, untill the choke wasfully off.it actually worked the opposite from what i thought though.i was turning scew in(cutting fuel off) each time.i thought w/choke on it was a sign of leanness!? i still dont really understand that part.can any1 explain that to me?

The choke slows down the air giving it more fuel to air when cold.
What did the adjustments end up being? You might want to find out and right them down if your not sure. Also mark it on the carb.

that is right the choke slows air so more fuel,so why would it start and run w/choke on when the fuel screw was already way to rich? i had to turn screw in(leaner)to get it to run w/choke off!dont make sense to me. ;D
