Hi all. Brand new to this forum. I have a 125cc Taotao atv with a semi-automatic transmission. The shift lever has stripped out and I can't seem to find one anywhere, not even on Taotao's website. Is it possible to convert the transmission from semi-automatic to automatic? Thanks.

As far as your shift lever being striped out. You can probably be assured any shift lever for 125cc thru 300cc will work on your machine. If it is the part that is coming out of the transmission,that might take some figuring to Mc Gyver it. You could possibly drill into it,tread it out and put a bolt into it with a couple of tag washers bent over so when you shift up and down it will shift for ya. Other wise you would have to replace that part and that is an issue,finding that part of course. Now as far as converting it to automatic,that is definatly out,for what I think you have is a 3 speed that you have to shift with no clutch,and you have to start it in nuetral. Now you might find you can get it into 3rd gear and use the starter to get her going. But that will soon destroy your starter which is 35 dallars and also screw up your starter chain or Starter Sprague gear assembly,which is another 40! Try drilling and taping that area,do not try and weld it,then you won't be able to get your cover off! Good luck buddy. Follow me on facebook @ ATVSUNLSpokane
