I have a 150 cc ATV, Hoffman is the name on the belt cover. It has the rear mounted gearbox, I'll put the link to a site that has a similar type of gearbox--

Anyhow, I noticed that it was only spinning one rear wheel when I would give it gas. I investigated and found that the rear axle is in two pieces inside the box. I was able to remove one half of the axle, but the other half seems to be stuck in the other side of the gear box. I've tried tapping it out, but it doesn't move. I tried disassembling the box, but even though I took the bolts off and tapped the cover, I couldn't get the box apart. Not wanting to start banging on things and breaking metal, I stopped. Is there a way to get the other half of the shaft out? Maybe a secret key or incantation?
