This is my 250 when I got it. All I had to do was install the wheels and the handle bars. Then I rolled it out of my truck. It was advertised as a 2007 but turned out to be a 2008. My 250 and my daughter Savannah. My other Daughter Kyrstin and her 110 red cat. Thats all for now. Thanks for looking Larry

Today while doing some other work on my 250 I noticed a few loose nuts and bolts. The lower a arms were loose and the struts also. I put a bit of seals all on them and tightened them up no more problem but had I not noticed it that was a wreak waiting to happen. So watch those nuts and bolts. Larry

Hi All, Strange problem with my 250... After riding for a while yesterday. I hit the gas right hard and it sputtered and cut off. Then it would not start back up. After a few min. it did start but soon as I hit the gas hard again it did the same thing. I am not sure if its a carb problem or what. It almost acts like its vapor locking. It would not start back up right away, we were loading up to come home anyway so we pushed it onto the trailer and came on home. When we got here it started right up and ran fine even wide open throttle. But by now the engine was cold. If you guys have any ideas let me know. Thanks Larry

I Did the first oil change on my Hi-Bird today. It calls for 15-40 motor oil but considering we are going into winter I opted for 5-40. I wanted to give it every advantage I could so I am running synthetic oil in her. The only thing I could find in the 5-40 synthetic oil was rotella. I hope this will be ok. The oil that came out was pretty dirty. I think thats from the clutch though. I was pretty hard on it last weekend and slipped the clutch a lot. I also found a few more loose bolts and one missing entirely that holds the breather to the frame. Thanks for looking Larry

Hi Guys, Well so far so good since fixing my electrical system. I haven't had any other problems. Unless you want to call poor driving a problem. I have broken the plastic in several places but thats from riding in places I shouldn't. I have caught it on trees and busted it up pretty good. Boy I am sure glad I only paid 1750 for it. I would be right mad had I spent 7000 and broken it up by hitting / catching trees. But alls well. I did get a stick caught in the chain this past weekend and threw the chain off. No big deal though in 2 min I had it back on and was on my way. We still haven't put that many hours on but so far I am pleased as can be for what I paid and how hard I have used it. I am super happy with my ATV now I will admit there were times when having the problem that I was cussing a blue streak but alls well that ends well. KIDD

Hey Larry, this is probably way to late but in response to your ATV acting like it was vapor locking, alot of people have discovered that the gas tank caps were not vented properly. After riding for a while the ATVs would sputter and die out. After sitting for a few minutes they would fire back up only to die out a few minutes later. The gas tank was getting no vent air causing a vaccum and starving the engine for gas.
Sounds like your problem was the electrical though.

Yep it turned out to be the stator but I have heard of the gas cap problem.
Can you believe I had my whole family on my HiBird 250 last weekend. I weight about or almost 200 my wife ( I wont say) Kyrstin about 65 Savannah 30. Lets say we were well over 400 lbs. It did ok Ok really well to pull all that up hills too. I would not suggest this but It was what we did when the motor mount bolt broke on the redcat 110.

Wow, thats pretty good for a 250, must be geared very well. Not really but well enough I guess. If I could find a larger rear sprocket I would change it in a heartbeat. When I first got it I couldn't stand the gearing but as I get use to it its not so bad. Larry

Just got back from testing mine out today.....Went well ran good overall.. pros- ran great, decent torque for a little 200, fun to toss around hardly used any gas.. cons- d**n exhuast shield sucks!!!! noisy pile of crap, lost the rear brake light as it wouldn't turn off so I had to unplug it, carb kept flooding out on me when I was riding to high a wheelie..old battery had to be jump when it was cold... Other than that I was quite happy with the quad...not too bad of a deal. \
