I recently purchased an SLA-265 from ATV discounter. My question is what type of oil should I be using in the engine? I am getting conflicting info from the owners manual that was provided with the unit. Does temperature matter in the selection? Thanks for your help. This site has already helped me with the carburetor adjustment in cold weather. Keep up the good work.

Welcome to the club... Yes temp. does decide what weight oil you want. Hotter you want thicker oil colder use thiner oil. I have a 110 redcat and a 250 hibird. We live in central VA and are using 15w40 Rotella Synthetic oil. Rotella is not a favorite of mine but its the only full synthetic 15W40 I could find. I have been advised by several people to use a synthetic with NO friction modifiers. They would make the clutch slip is what I have been told. Good luck hope you enjoy your new toy. Don't forget to post some pics and tell us about your rides. Larry
