I installed a bike speedometer on my Hi Bird 250 today. I wanted to know how much riding I am doing and have an idea for future service work. So I went to walmart and bought a bike speedo for $9.99. Its made in china also. I started off making sure it would reach where I wanted to mount it. Just did make it. I wanted to mount it here on the dash. CLICK ON PIC FOR FULL SIZE I decided to mount the pickup here on the right front strut. I needed something to use as a spacer that wouldn't rot. I need to hold the pick up close to the wheel where it wont get damaged. I ended up using a piece of plastic hanger. I used some contact cement and wire ties to hold it in place. Then I used more zip ties to hold the pick up in place. It was actually designed to be mounted like this. Only on the fork of a bike not the strut of an ATV. Here I used more of the contact cement to hold the magnet to the rim. All mounted up with the wheel back on and ready to test. It works. Took a few min. to calibrate it for my tire size using this convert program. joshmadison.com/software/convert/ Its a handy program. Now I have to let the glue dry till morning then for a real good test. The finished project. I did have to drill one hole for the sensor to slip through but the speedometer is mounted over it with the wire running through it. So now I have a speedometer, odometer, trip distance and clock. It also has other functions but they don't add anything useful, for an ATV. Larry
