Watch out for pieces falling off and those strange sounds. They are trying to tell you something. Ok listen for it and you will hear when something isn't right. Bad vibrations will give it away. Its a good idea to go over a new ATV with your choice of lock tite. I prefer SEALS ALL. Its a product from walmart (cheap $2.00) it holds the nuts and bolts from coming loose but if you need to get it apart its not bad. It is not a product designed for this it just works well and is gas and oil resistant. Its also clear so nobody knows you made a mess with it but you. Its a good idea to check all the nuts and bolts you can get to on a regular basis. This will help keep you and your kids safe. Larry

More loose stuff on my 2008 Hi-Bird. We went riding yesterday and when I got home yesterday found some more little problems. The struts are loose at the top mounts, I may have to remove the body to get at them. Also I have a few broken spot welds already and one missing right angle bracket that holds the body on. The weld broke and the bolt came out no biggy it was just a spot weld should have been welded all the way across though. The welding done on this machine leaves a bit to be desired. Larry

This is a problem with all ATV's no matter what brand they are. If your a pro rider in the ATV racing family,do you think they just go from race to race without looking at and retorking all the bolts. Just because you use lock tite do you think that is fool proof. All ATV's due to vibration, have loosening problems. They will also have weld problems. You cannot just gas and go. Inspection and maint. is part of the game! I have seen the big Yamaha, honda and other name brand machines just crack in half. Just view U tube and you will see what happens to riggs. If you want to jump, race, mudd, ect. like you see in comercials, you have to due modifications to your rig, like putting higher quality materials then what came with that name brand or generic rig. You have to go in and stip them down and reinforce the welds. Or no matter what things will come loose, welds will eventually break, bearings will go bad. The machines you buy out right from dealers are not made for racing right off the showroom floor. 2x4 atv's are made for going faster then 4x4 ATV's. 4x4 are made for retrieving your game or hauling stuff around your ranch, not hill climbing or racing. Know your machine, don't due what they due in commercials unless your a pro rider! Going through any machine and just dabbing locktite on threads at every inspection is a good idea on top of having a good tork wrench and checking bolts. See me on Facebook @ ATVSUNLSpokane
