Help I have a 2007 TaoTao 250 D it has a exahust leak where the pipe meets the motor I trid to tighten it that did not work. I took the exahust off and found a wire (that looks kind of like a twist tie only its not paper) wrapped around the pipe on the end that goes into the motor. What Should I do ? Do i rewrap it with the same wire ? Is there any other way to fix this leak ?

Welcome to the club! Can you take a picture and post of the pipe, this wire, and where the pipe meets the engine? Thanks Larry

Does anyone know if high temp rtv sealent can be used where the exhaust pip meets the motor as a gasket ? I found 600-700 degree stuff but have heard this spot can be 1200 degrees .

I don't think that will work there, But then again I have never tried. I was talking about cut to fit gasket material. If the auto parts stores don't have the high temp type try a local speed shop. Or you might go to a exhaust shop and find a gasket thats close enough in size to work. Where theres a will theres a way. Keep up the good work and let us know how it works out. Larry

I talked to the dealer who sold it to me. he said he will send me a new gasket when they get it next wk. I am thinking of asking him to sell me an extra clutch & cable & throttle cable and brake pads so I have them if I ever need them. What do you think ?

The best thing about having spare parts. If you have them on hand its like insurance. There it is but please never let me need it. I grab up spare stuff at every chance. So I would go for it. If you can keep up with the stuff its a good selling point also. Say when you get ready to sell you list your ATV and spares with a note that you had gotten this stuff if needed but never had to use it. But the parts come with it. Lots of people see that as a good thing. Not only that they have spares but must be a pretty good unit since they haven't been needed. Larry
